Generic Name: Clindamycin
Dosage Form: 150 mg and 300 mg capsules
Drug Class: Antibiotic

Indications:
Climanda® is used to treat various bacterial infections, including:

  • Bone infections
  • Abdominal infections
  • Respiratory tract infections
  • Soft tissue infections
  • Sepsis (bloodstream infections)
  • Streptococcal, staphylococcal, and anaerobic infections

Climanda® Overview:

Climanda® (Clindamycin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that prevents the growth and multiplication of bacteria. At higher doses, it can kill the bacteria.

Indications for Climanda®:

  • Joint and bone infections
  • Gynecological and obstetric infections
  • Abdominal cavity infections
  • Lower respiratory tract infections
  • Bloodstream infections (sepsis)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Various streptococcal, staphylococcal, and anaerobic infections

Dosage Form:

  • Oral capsules: 150 mg and 300 mg

How to Use Climanda®:

  • Take Climanda® exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
  • For the best therapeutic response, do not alter the dosage or duration of treatment without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Take the capsule with a full glass of water, either on an empty stomach or with food. If you have gastrointestinal issues, it's recommended to take the medication with food. Avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking the medication.

Missed Dose:

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose is near, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Overdose:

  • If you think you have taken more than the recommended dose, immediately inform your doctor or visit a healthcare facility.

Monitoring During Treatment:

While on Climanda®, the following should be monitored:

  • Changes in stool output
  • Symptoms of colitis (e.g., stomach pain, bloating, diarrhea, mucus or blood in stool, loss of appetite, and weight loss)
  • Liver function
  • Kidney function
  • Complete blood cell count

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to clindamycin or any component of the formulation
  • Neonates under 30 days old

Warnings and Precautions:

  • If you experience symptoms such as difficulty urinating, changes in urine output, blood in urine, or excessive weight gain, inform your doctor immediately.
  • In case of severe diarrhea, stomach pain, very loose and watery stools, or blood in stools, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you experience widespread allergic reactions such as redness, swelling, blistering, or peeling of the skin, redness of the eyes, or sores in the mouth, throat, nose, or eyes, seek medical help immediately.
  • Use with caution in elderly patients or those with liver failure, kidney failure, or gastrointestinal conditions. Inform your doctor if any of these apply to you.
  • To prevent esophageal irritation, take Clindamycin with a full glass of water and avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking it.
  • Misuse of this medication may lead to increased microbial resistance.

Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

  • Before taking Clindamycin during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Clindamycin passes through the placenta and may be excreted in breast milk. The decision to use this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be made considering the benefits to the mother and the risks to the baby.

Side Effects of Climanda®:

  • Diarrhea and gastrointestinal disturbances
  • Abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting
  • Allergic reactions and skin issues like rashes and hives
  • Changes in taste

Drug Interactions:

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Clindamycin with any other medications or supplements.


Packaging:

Each package contains 30 capsules (3 blister packs of 10 capsules each).


Storage:

  • Store Climanda® at temperatures below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
  • Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging. Avoid using expired medications.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Do not remove the medication from its original packaging until use.
