Generic Name: Cabergoline
Dosage Form: 0.5 mg tablet
Drug Class: Dopamine Agonist
Indications:
Caberna® is used to lower elevated levels of the hormone prolactin.
Caberna® Overview:
Caberna® (Cabergoline) works by stimulating dopamine receptors, leading to a reduction in prolactin levels. It is used for the treatment of certain hormonal disorders and conditions related to abnormally high prolactin levels.
Indications for Caberna®:

Treatment of hyperprolactinemia (high prolactin levels)

Cushing's disease
-
Acromegaly
-
Prevention of inappropriate milk secretion
-
Prevention of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
Dosage Form:
-
Oral tablet: 0.5 mg per tablet
Dosage and Administration:
-
Take Caberna® exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not adjust the dose or duration of treatment without consulting your doctor.

It is recommended to take Caberna® once a day, preferably with food, at the same time each day.
Missed Dose:
-
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose is near, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.
Overdose:

In case of overdose, immediately seek medical attention or contact your healthcare provider.
Monitoring During Treatment:
The following should be monitored while using Caberna®:

Blood pressure

Serum prolactin levels

Serum creatinine levels
-
Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR)

Chest X-ray
-
Echocardiogram
-
Kidney, lung, and heart function
-
IGF-1 levels and growth hormone levels in acromegaly

Urinary cortisol in Cushing's disease
Contraindications:
-
Hypersensitivity to cabergoline, ergot derivatives, or any components of the formulation
-
Uncontrolled hypertension
-
History of heart valve problems
-
History of cardiac or extracardiac fibrosis
Warnings and Precautions:

Caberna® should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, stroke, or seizures. Inform your doctor of any such conditions before starting this medication.

Cabergoline may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid activities requiring high alertness, such as driving or operating heavy machinery, while taking this medication.

If you experience symptoms such as aggression, uncontrolled behavior, excessive sexual desire, or binge eating, inform your doctor.

This drug should be used with caution in patients with Raynaud’s syndrome, peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or liver failure. Inform your doctor of any of these conditions before starting treatment.

Consult your doctor before using Caberna® during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The use of Caberna® during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be considered only if the benefits outweigh the risks, according to the doctor’s advice.
Side Effects of Caberna®:
While every drug has the potential to cause side effects, not all patients will experience them. Common side effects of Caberna® may include:

Storage:
