Patient Details

Ronopar®

Generic name: Levodopa and Benserazide
Dosage form: Cross-scored tablets 125 mg (100/25) and 250 mg (200/50)
Pharmacologic class: Anti-Parkinson
Indication: Treatment of Parkinson’s disease

Description

Ronopar® contains two active ingredients: Levodopa and Benserazide
Patients with Parkinson’s disease have a deficiency of dopamine in certain parts of the brain, leading to slowness of movement, muscle stiffness, and tremor.
Levodopa is converted to dopamine (the active form) in the brain, improving Parkinson’s symptoms.
Benserazide prevents Levodopa from being converted to dopamine before reaching the brain, thereby increasing the amount of Levodopa available and enhancing the overall effect of the medication.
