Generic name: Anagrelide
Dosage form: Oral capsule containing 0.5 mg of anagrelide
Drug Category: Antiplatelet agent
Indications: This medication is used to treat and alleviate the symptoms of thrombocythemia (elevated platelet levels).
Agrina®
Agrina® (Anagrelide) improves thrombocythemia (elevated platelet levels) through mechanisms such as reducing platelet production.
Indications for Agrina®
Agrina® is prescribed for the treatment of thrombocythemia secondary to malignancy, to reduce elevated platelet counts, decrease the risk of thrombosis (blood clot formation), and relieve associated symptoms (including thrombohemorrhagic events).

Oral capsule containing 0.5 mg of anagrelide
Dosage and Administration of Agrina®
Take Agrina® exactly as prescribed by your physician, and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure about the correct way to take the medication.
This medication requires long-term use; do not discontinue it without medical advice.
Take Agrina® capsules with a glass of water, either before or after meals.
Missed Dose of Agrina®
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not take a double dose or any extra medication to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose of Agrina®
If you take more than the recommended dose, inform your doctor immediately.
Known symptoms of anagrelide overdose include:
· Difficulty breathing
· Unusual bleeding or bruising
· Increased heart rate
Monitoring Parameters during Agrina® therapy
· Platelet count: Every two days during the first week of treatment, then weekly until a maintenance dose is reached. It is recommended to continue monitoring platelet count after discontinuation of therapy.
· Blood test (CBC): Should be closely monitored during the first two weeks of treatment.
· Liver enzymes: Monitor before starting and throughout treatment.
· Creatinine and urea: Carefully monitor during the initial weeks of therapy.
· Blood pressure and heart rate
· Signs of thrombosis and bleeding
· Serum electrolyte levels
· Cardiovascular examination (including ECG)
· Symptoms of interstitial lung disease and cardiopulmonary disorders
· Patient adherence to treatment
Contraindications of Agrina®
· Hypersensitivity to anagrelide or any component of the formulation
· Severe hepatic impairment
· Rare hereditary disorders such as galactose intolerance
· Glucose-galactose malabsorption
· Congenital lactase deficiency
Warnings and precautions for Agrina®
· Concurrent use of this medication with aspirin, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as naproxen, mefenamic acid, etc.), and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (such as fluoxetine, sertraline, etc.) increases the risk of bleeding.
· This medication should be used with caution and under medical supervision in patients with heart problems.
· Patients with hepatic impairment should be monitored during treatment with this drug.
Use of Agrina® During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
There are insufficient studies on the use of this medication during pregnancy.
Treatment of thrombocytopenia during pregnancy is necessary, and other medications are preferred over anagrelide.
The extent of this drug's excretion into breast milk is unknown. Breastfeeding is not recommended for up to one week after the last dose of Agrina®.
Side effects of Agrina®
Like any medication, Agrina® may cause some unwanted side effects in addition to its therapeutic benefits, although not everyone experiences them. Possible side effects include:
· Swelling
· Increased heart rate
· Abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea
· Headache and dizziness
· Fatigue and weakness
· Shortness of breath

Packaging of Agrina®
Each package of Agrina® contains 100 capsules in a single bottle.
Storage conditions for Agrina®
· Store the medication at a temperature below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
· Use the medication only until the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
· Do not use or store expired medications.
· Keep the medication out of the sight and reach of children.
· Do not remove the medication from its original packaging before use.
