Dosage Form: 100 mg Film-Coated Tablet
Therapeutic Category: Analgesic (Pain Reliever)
Indications: This medication is used to relieve pain associated with urinary tract infections.
Phenazix® is an analgesic medication used to relieve pain caused by urinary tract infections.
- Relief of painful urination (dysuria)
- Improved visualization of the ureter and bladder during cystoscopic evaluation
- Assistance in diagnosing urinary tract injuries
100 mg oral film-coated tablet.
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your physician. If you are unsure how to use it correctly, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- Take the medicine with a glass of water, with food or after meals.
- Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at the same time or take an extra dose.
If you take more than the prescribed amount, contact your doctor immediately.
- Hypersensitivity to phenazopyridine or any component of the formulation
- Renal impairment (kidney failure)
- This medicine should be used with caution and under medical supervision in elderly patients or patients with G6PD deficiency (favism).
- If yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes occurs, discontinue the medicine and contact your doctor.
- The medicine may cause urine to turn orange-red. This is normal and will disappear after discontinuation.
- Contact with the tablet may stain clothing and contact lenses. Therefore, avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
- This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
Like all medicines, this medication may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
Possible side effects include:
- Headache
- Diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
- Urine discoloration
Consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the use of Phenazix® together with other medications or dietary supplements.
Each package contains 30 tablets (2 blister packs of 15 tablets each).
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.
- The medicine may be used until the end of the month indicated as the expiration date on the package. Do not use or store expired medicines.
